[He also told me that in your temple you learn the secret handshake to get into heaven. What kind of god needs that to know who has the right to go to heaven?]

Marie-Hélène went back to the kitchen to start cleaning up. Julie stayed to listen.

[What takes place in the temple is sacred. We can't discuss it.]

[On top of that, I've heard that you sacrifice rabbits and kittens in your temple and drink their blood!]

"Quoi ?! Certainement pas ! Jamais !" exclaimed Elder Beaverton. [What?! Certainly not! Never!]

"Aha !" said Jean-Pierre. [Aha! I just made that up. So you admit the other thing since you don't deny it. You must understand, sirs, why I'm not thrilled to see my family get mixed up in this sort of thing.]

[Excuse me, but this discussion is not appropriate. I think it's time to thank our hosts and go home.]

So we thanked our hosts for their hospitality, reaffirmed Julie's appointment to take the next discussion, said goodbye to the kids, and walked back to our apartment.

Before bed, Elder Beaverton felt it would be a good idea to say a prayer together that Julie would receive witness of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, and that her husband's heart would be softened so that he would accept the truth himself or at least not stand in her way.

Getting in bed, I told myself "only five more days to go." Then aussitôt [just as quickly] I was already dreaming of coming back.
